AgenciesNew Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for the junior Australian Open champion Yuki Bhambri on Tuesday.
Sheila congratulated Bhambri on becoming the first Indian to win the Australian Open Grand Slam.
"Every Delhite is proud of Yuki, who is just 16-year-old. I am sure he has a bright future and this win is first of many to come," she said in a statement.
Last week Yuki became the fourth Indian to win a junior Grand Slam, emulating the feat of Ramanathan Krishan, Ramesh Krishnan and Leander Paes.
