Fresh probe in 2004 death of Yedi's wife

Bangalore: In a major embarassment to Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa, fresh probe has been initiated into his wife Maitradevi's death, who died under suspicious circumstances.

Maitradevi died on October 16, 2004 under tragic circumstances. She was reported to have slipped and fallen into the sump in their house at Vinobanagar in Shimoga while drawing water from it in a bucket in the morning. She was alone at home at the time.

The maidservant, who arrived a little later, was surprised when she did not find Maitradevi in the house. She first searched the house and then came outside to see if she was watering the plants in the compound. She found the body in the sump.
