Mumbai: Though both Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray maintained silence over what went on between them, sources claim that the former called on the later to discuss the ransacking of Mumbai University premises by MNS student activists.
Jamir, in his capacity as chancellor of universities in the state, had summoned MNS chief to discuss the attack on Mumbai University.
Raj was accompanied by key associates including spokesperson Shirish Parkar and was at Raj Bhavan for around an hour.
Earlier this week, leaders of the MNS' student wing had vandalised properties at the universty's South Mumbai campus after allegedly being denied permission to hold talks with the vice chancellor.
MNS wanted to raise objections over the inclusion of social sciences and languages - Hindi, Marathi, Urdu and other languages - for students pursuing Bachelor of Arts. Six leaders were arrested following the vandalism.
