New Delhi: The Congress on Friday demanded a probe to find out if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got any funds from the ISI after a terror accused revealed that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders received money from Pakistan's spy agency.
'Following Dayanand Pandey's statement, the BJP, which says it gets inspiration from the RSS, must tell the nation what kind of inspiration it gets. It must also be investigated whether the BJP also got money from the ISI,' Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad said.
According to Mumbai police, Pandey, arrested for his role in a bombing in Malegaon last year, told them that RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat and RSS Muslim wing leader Indresh Kumar had received funds from ISI.
Ahmad said: 'It must also be investigated whether the ISI funded the divisive politics as well.'
Pandey alias Swami Amritanand, a self-styled Hindu religious leader, is among the 11 people arrested for their alleged role in the bombing in the Maharashtra town Sep 29 that claimed six lives.
