New Delhi: With just a few days to go before his term comes to an end, US Ambassador to India David C Mulford today called on Leader of Opposition L K Advani to bid farewell.
Mulford visited Advani at his residence at around 10:30 am and spent about 20 minutes with him.
Sources close to Advani said it was just a courtesy call before Mulford leaves for his country after a successful tenure in India. Mulford had also called on Union Home Minister P Chidambaram earlier this week.
Though his tenure was scheduled to end last month, Mulford was asked to continue for some time by the newly-elected US President Barack Obama. During Mulford's five-year tenure in India, the Indo-US ties saw a major boost.
He was the key interlocutor of the Bush team on the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.
