New Delhi: LTTE was down, but not out. Last night, two of its aircraft bombed Colombo killing two persons and injuring 54 others.
With these attacks, Lankan Army officials admit that until they are able to capture or kill rebel chief Velupillai Prabhakaran and his son Charles Anthony, it would be impossible to declare their war against terror, won.
Defying all combating norms, LTTE airmen did not use any airbase, but used National Highway No. A-35.
The Sri Lankan government says the planes were tracked by radar as soon as they entered Colombo airspace just past 8 PM (local time) on Friday evening.
Officials deployed anti aircraft guns immediately, cut off electricity to entire Colombo and urged residents to take shelter in basements and protected areas until the danger had passed.
