TN police chief issues shoot-at-sight order

Chennai: Tamil Nadu police chief has instructed district police supers to issue shoot-at-sight order if anybody indulges in destroying public property.

Advocates across the state staged protests in almost all district headquarters, condemning "police excesses" during the clash on the Madras High Court premises.

In last two days, four buses, one fire services jeep, 14 three wheelers and lots of two wheelers have been torched by agitators.

The Joint Commissioner of Police Ramasubramani has been transferred.
