Bangalore: City police appears to have cracked the case of serial bomb blasts that rocked the city six months ago with the arrest of nine persons.
The lead was given by E T Zainudheen alias Abdul Sattar. He revealed ten names linked to the blasts. Thereafter, the police trapped the accused and investigated.
Sattar is believed to have supplied microchip-based circuits to make improvised explosive devices deployed in terror attacks in Bangalore. Working for a terrorist organisation, he was involved in recruiting youths from Kerala for its modules. He trained them in Hyderabad. Later, he sent them to Pakistan. He has links with other terror groups also.
Sattar is wanted by the City police in 10 cases. An electrical goods dealer, he has mastered the art of manufacturing crude bombs, a source said.
Joint Commissioner (Crime) Gopal B Hosur, who is heading the investigation team, said he was optimistic about cracking the serial blast case.
“No investigation into terror attacks in the country has been fully cracked. There are still some terrorists at large. Investigation into terrorism is a lengthy and tedious process. We have put our best efforts and reached a particular stage,” he said.
