New Delhi: IPL chairman Lalit Modi rubbished charges of cheating and embezzlement of funds collected to help victims of Jaipur blasts as 'political witch-hunt'.

He threatened to pull-out IPL matches from Jaipur if allegations against him continue any further.

"I never promised to help Jaipur blast victims myself, the promise was made on behalf of IPL frachisees and we are keeping our words too. Rs 5.2 crore have already been donated for the
cause," he said.

"We may re-consider matches in Jaipur," he further added. "This entire episode is political witch-hunt. We are looking at alternatives," he said.

Modi had handed over a cheque of Rs 6 crore to the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. An FIR has been lodged against him alleging funds didn't reach the victims.

Modi termed the allegations as baseless and presented evidence on Monday to prove his case. Modi, who is facing a stiff challenge to stay on as President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association has also been accused of fraud in a land deal.
