Mumtaz Ali Khan said pub culture and couples courting in public are un-Islamic and against Indian culture.
He was articulating his personal reactions on recent pub attack and assault on Kerala MLA's daughter.
"Islam does not permit boys and girls to mix or encourage pub culture. But we have cases of girls who are staying in hostels, some who have come from outside Karnataka, lying to their guardians and indulging in such actions. I had such a bitter experience myself," he proclaimed.
He also disapproved banning the Sri Rama Sene (SRS) and termed banning as an extreme step.
